Comedian Vidura Bandara Rajapaksa (ITV2’s The Stand Up Sketch Show) is set to make his highly-anticipated Fringe debut, and is previewing the show across Europe in preparation.

Fresh from the finals of 2Northdown’s 2021 New Act Competition, Vidura brings his engrossing and relaxed style to his debut hour telling the story of his chaotic life so far. Having left war-ridden Sri Lanka with his family in 1999, spending his teens in New Jersey, a stint at medical school in Malaysia, discovering sex parties in Berlin, to now performing comedy in a Scottish nightclub in 2022. Prepare for a downpour of everything: the personal (battling an eating disorder in a starving country), the political (perils of voluntourism) and the important (Pixar classic Ratatouille).

Vidura's TV and film credits include starring in his own stand-up comedy special Live From Berlin (Amazon Prime Video), as well as directing and starring in feature-length documentary Open Mic Days (Amazon Prime Video). He is the winner of 2021 Berlin Indie Film Festival’s Best Comedy Short and Best First Time Director awards for his film Native Number Four. For writing, his comedy short The Ref was selected for the 2021 London Screenwriting Festival Shorts Lab and made the semi-finals of the Outstanding Screenplays Shorts Contest 2021.
