Vocal Improv Singing Circle + Shamanic Sound Bath

Let's come together in circle to co-create some sound magic:

• Exploring the primal power of our voice and basking into the somatic experience of vibrations.
• Giving ourselves and each other permission to playfully experiment, free from performative expectations.
• Connecting with ourselves and each other, expanding the boundaries of our expression.
• Cultivating mindful presence and healthy nervous system regulation.
• Co-Creating a nurturing experience for those who think they can't sing, as well as those who love singing.

Kat Bonny is  a Songstress and Improv Vocalist steeped into ancient folk world music,  jazz and blues, with a passion for exploring creative ways to use the  voice and breath, from tribal singing techniques, vocal harmonies,  recreating nature sounds, scat and beatboxing.

Her ongoing healing  journey from chronic pain and complex trauma, as well as her experience  with shamanic trance states deeply informs her practice, exploring how  sound and vibration affect our nervous system and states of  consciousness.

Event outline

Doors open at 13:45, please aim to arrive by 14:00 so we can all journey together.

(To find us, ask the lovely staff of the Loveshak restaurant, they will point you to the event space)

We will start with some gentle and playful practices to warm up the body and the voice, to start releasing blocks and tension.

We will share a practice called chakra toning, voicing tones to harmonize our body's energy systems.

Moving  into group vocal improvisations, we will explore ways to weave sounds  and harmonies to spontaneously co-create our own tunes.

Ending our  journey together, Kat will offer a shamanic sound bath, layering her  voice with Tibetan singing bowl and shamanic drum beats conducive to a  meditative trance state. A time for you to relax, go within, and  integrate the day's energies.

This is a drug and alcohol free event - over 18 only.

Our host venue Love Shack,  is not only a gorgeous event space tucked away behind a secret passage  door disguised as a bookshelf: it is also a Vegan restaurant favourite,  serving a delicious brunch menu from vegan full English options to  gluten-free pancakes, along with heart-opening cacao drinks, chai lattes  and mocktails.
